Write your own rules. Set your own measures of success. Or spend your life chasing someone else’s scoreboard.

Most of us spend years chasing “success” without ever stopping to define what it truly means for ourselves. The easy – and all too common – path is to adopt other people’s metrics: money, titles, status, scale, speed. Only later do we realise we’ve been climbing the wrong ladder, chasing outcomes that didn’t actually matter to us to begin with.

In my first year of business, I have found myself grappling with the pull of hustle culture and the industry’s obsession with surface-level measures of success. I could feel myself slipping back into the very habits I had left my corporate career to escape – driving, pushing, grinding. It was a wake-up call.

After sitting with this friction and reflecting deeply, I designed my own business manifesto. It has become my compass – guiding how I work, what I stand for, what I refuse, and how I measure success in ways that allow me to grow and be of service; whilst keeping me healthy, whole, and aligned. I also love that when my clients read my manifesto, they know exactly who and what they are dealing with.

I take this stuff seriously. I do the work to make sure I genuinely walk my talk. Integrity is one of my top three values – and to me that means working with authenticity, honouring myself as much as I honour the people I serve.

Do you have a manifesto for your business, or for how you want to show up in your work? If not, maybe it’s time. Because if you don’t design your own path and determine your own measures of success, someone else will hand theirs to you – and you’ll spend your life living by their rules. Fuc*k that.

My Business Manifesto

This is where I use my powers for good.

Rach Taylor Coaching is my creative outlet and my vehicle to be of service. It is where I create meaning and purpose. This is not what I do, this is part of who I am. It is not my financial plan – it is my legacy.

I am an agitator, a guide, an agent for change, an advocate. I embody calm and considered wisdom – not noise. I do not scramble for attention, yet when I speak, the room shifts; when I share, it resonates deeply. Yoda energy.

My work sustains me; it does not strip me. Work doesn’t need to feel hard to matter. My work is delivered with lightness, ease, integrity, and trust. I focus my energy without destroying myself in the process. I follow the guidance of my body and nervous system, even when my mind questions it. I trust what my body tells me. I am courageous enough to listen and act from feeling and intuition, and I allow time to reveal the deeper reasons why.

My business is built on the balance of masculine and feminine. I honour both – the structure that gives me focus and the flow that keeps me alive. I know that nurturing and supporting others is only possible if I allow myself to be nurtured and supported too. I refuse to over-give. The rhythm of my work is reciprocity – giving and receiving in equal measure. I ask myself: What is the energetic return here? I let that guide me.

I magnetise rather than chase. I attract through ease, not pressure. I share vulnerably, not strategically. I let my truth be enough. My business grows through invitation and resonance – not through funnels, force, or hustle. I know that the right people and opportunities always find me when I am grounded in truth and authenticity.

My business is an extension of me: vibrant, resilient, grounded, calm – a space where I serve, create, and spark change without losing myself in the process.

Did I mention I also work from wherever the fu*k I want?

Success is not about speed, scale, sales, or constant output. It is neither fiscal nor volume based.

My business outputs take care of themselves, because true success rests on the vitality of the input – me.

Success is greatest when I am honouring the primal wisdom of my body, when I trust its cycles and move with its seasons. I measure success by how whole I feel after I give – by whether the exchange nourishes me as much as it nourishes others. Success feels like a calm nervous system.

Success feels like clients who are deeply inspired, nurtured, and moved beyond that which they thought was possible for themselves. It feels like spaciousness in my days, my values intact, my sense of completeness untouched by depletion. Success is integrity held, honour maintained, and authenticity shining through everything I do.
